Fashion's Night Out 2011

image via
Tonight is Fashion's Night Out: a time to peruse all your favorite NYC stores & boutiques after hours and enjoy free food, drinks, activities, celeb appearances, and giveaways! Vogue's editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, created the event in 2009 and it's been an immense success the past two years. Many of the proceeds go to various charities and it's a fun way to kick off NY Fashion Week!

Want to know where to go tonight? Click here to plan your evening. There's even an app available for iPhones and Androids!

(update: it appears that the FNO website is experiencing high traffic volume so it might take a while to load.)

Fab Sugar suggests some of the following:

David Yurman NYC: Sip NYC-inspired cocktails while you rub elbows with David Yurman, Camille Belle, Joan Smalls, and Arizona Muse in a celebration to toast the brand's new "Born in New York, Designed in New York, Loved in New York" Fall 2011 campaign.

Intermix NYC: You're sure to have a raucous time at Intermix's fashion-meets-cocktails party at its new locale in the Meatpacking zone. Rachel Zoe will make a guest appearance and there will also be a FNO limited-edition collection avaiable for shopping, and last but not least, stylish signature cocktails created by Bols Genever and local Meatpacking spots including STK, The Griffin, and The Darby.

Kenneth Cole NYC: Stop in Kenneth Cole for a live performance from Parachute, have your photo taken with designer Kenneth Cole, and a free customized tee. Also, guesting using Four Square to check in will receive a free iTunes download card of Parachute’s latest album — sweet!
*remember when I mentioned the band, Parachute? This is them!

Bergdorf Goodman: Michael Kors will make an appearance in Bergdorf’s famous Fifth Avenue windows to celebrate 30 years with the retailer, Oscar de la Renta will be around to sign his limited-edition “Face of Fashion” Fall kaleidoscope palette by Le Métier de Beauté, Audrianna Cole will perform, and one of our favorite events of the night, the designer dog show where designers like Badgley Mischka, Joseph AltuzarraLela Rose, and Reem Acra will strut the runway with their dogs while Marchesa's Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, Santiago Gonzalez, and The BagSnob’s Tina Craig do the judging.

Macy's: Joss Stone and Kelly Rowland will perform in addition to appearances from Tommy Hilfiger, Coco Rocha, Sandra Lee, Miss J from ANTMBobbi Brown, Anna Dello Russo, Karolina Kurkova, and Rachel Roy. Word has it that lucky shoppers also might get a chance to play a game of pool with Diddy!

Victoria's Secret: The Fulton Street location will be filled with models as Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Erin Heatherton, and Lily Aldridge will be readily available to take photos with customers. You can also get a Fall makeup and fragrance makeover.

Fan of the Kardashians or Jersey Shore? Head to DASH NY where Pauly D will be DJing the party.

What would be my top pick? Jessie James is one of my favorite boutiques in the West Village. I might be biased because my friend is their stylist, but it really is a wonderful little spot. So if you have the chance, head there tonight! Here are the details:

Jessie James: Get a peek at owner Jessica Caulfield's clothing line, which is debuting on FNO and will be exclusive to the tastemaking boutique. You can also nosh on Mediterranean snacks from Pera Turkish Tacos truck whle you sway to the live beats of Wylie, a five-piece indie-rock band from Charleston, South Carolina. 7-11pm.

Also, Daniel Radcliffe will be at Jeffrey in my neighborhood. Maybe I need to go see him? Do you think he will shudder if I tell him I've only read one & a half of the HP books...? (I'm getting there! Just taking me a while, sheesh.)

Happy shopping & mingling!

until next time,

g
